Working with a counsellor can help you:

  • Make sense of your thoughts and emotions, especially when they feel overwhelming or confusing

  • Break free from unhelpful patterns that may be holding you back

  • Develop greater self-awareness and confidence in who you are

  • Sessions last for 1 hour and are usually held weekly or fortnightly, but this can be flexible depending on your needs and budget.

  • Yes - confidentiality is a key part of counselling. There are rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality for safety reasons (e.g. risk of harm to yourself or others), but I’ll always explain this clearly. I work in line with the BACP’s ethical guidelines.

  • That’s completely ok - many people feel unsure at first. I’ll guide you through everything and make sure you feel safe and supported. There’s no right or wrong way to do counselling - just come as you are.
